I haven’t read TKZ in a while. During my final days of reading TKZ daily, I enjoyed the grumpiness of the panelists (just for sheer entertainment). I also sadly bailed on DWS because his main profession now seems to be Kickstarter Entrepreneur. I haven’t delved into a ton of details, but some of them (like Smith’s Monthly) don’t seem to go anywhere. Not to
mention the math of the Kickstarters suggest they’re mostly funded by wannabe writers seeking workshop discounts rather than readers. This is all to say: the people making real money in this gold rush are the guys selling shovels.
Yep. I still check DWS every day (force of habit) but any sales pitch I immediately close the page and do something worthwhile. TNDJ now is what DWS' site used to be, but better (IMHO).
