Oh and just remembered I got a great idea recently from fingerprintings the residents did at the nursing home where I work. One was a tree and the ground under it was red. I decided the red was blood and that the tree was growing out of a pool of blood. And it's fit perfectly in my story which has a vampire butterfly 🦋. She loves the blood tree! I was lucky to have my friend's kids to paint me my own blood tree which I keep on my fridge, as well as a painting of my vampire butterfly.
I also have gotten some great ideas from youtube shorts( mostly funny animal ones) and when shopping for funny tshirts etc. but I am currently writing stories with a lot of animal characters including some as the main characters. Liked the one with a cat biting a shark so much it's worked it's way into my story and I even bought the shirt!
Like Harvey, I get a lot of ideas from photos. Sometimes I just find random ones I like. Or I google whatever and look at the images and save the ones I like. Eventually they usually make their way into a story.
Anyway, if anyone still needs ideas I have oodles. Let me know!
Reading the bit about story ideas so I can avoid them. Lol. I have too many already. I have a file of ideas for different genres as well as a general file of situations/great lines, etc. Anyone wants ideas let me know. 🤣
Ever since I picked up a pencil to write my first short story at age 11, my biggest story idea generator is coming up with a title I like.
