I'd love to join the challenge, unfortunately I'm dealing with day 7 of a migraine (light sensitivity and general ill feeling). I am writing, but much less than usually. It could be the weather, we get a lot of thunderstorms in august and those can trigger my migraines.
On the bright side I wrote a lot more than usual last month and had fun telling stories.
Thank you. Best of health to the wife as well. They can really hurt and while medicine and a dark room helps it can be frustrating waiting for the migraine to stop.
Formulas... I used a 'formula' in one of my series. I had the same viewpoint character and the same world - so I had limitations. But I think it is exciting how that limitation can be pushed further. I think about the formula as a concept. The concept makes some limitations, and when I use the same character in the same world, it makes a formula. The interesting thing is how can I vary their cases. However, it can be a trap. When there is an outline, it's always safer to follow what succeeded before...
Thanks, Balázs. Yes, and you can also eventually feel as if you're "in a rut" once you recognize the repetition or imitations of a "formula" or "concept." If you haven't gotten into a rut yet, good.
In Blackwell Ops, it's almost always a different main character, but it's still in that same world so I experience the same thing.

Sorry to hear about the migraines. My wife has those light-sensitivity ones. Hope it clears up for you soon.

Yep. And thanks.
