Glad to see you linked to Dean's Magic Bakery Posts :)
And thanks for the info about D2D. I need to sign up so I can start actually publishing my stuff. I'm following some of Heinlein's rules quite well (writing and finishing and not rewriting) but not doing so great about putting it on the market...
Good on you, Natalie! Yep, Heinlein's Rule 4 is where both I and Dean fall off most often. At one point a year or so ago I looked up and realized I had five or six novels that were finished but unpublished. :-) That's exactly why now I publish as I finish, so I won't forget to publish later. :-)
D2D's POD is Ingram Spark, and with it going to Ingram Spark, bookshop.org picks up your books as well. Several other indie bookstores draw from Ingram Spark's warehouse.
Well, the point is you aren't "selling' your work, you're only licensing it. So when soemone takes a slice of pie, the slice magically reappears. It his way of teaching writers about copyright and the value of intellectual property.

Thanks for that, Joseph!
Love the magical bakery analogy!
Yeah, he first did it a few years ago. This is supposed to be the "advanced" version.
Soooo, really what we are doing is Baking Into The Dark! 😉
