Yes, this is very helpful. I think that I do a good job of writing what is happening and to whom. What’s missing is the sense of ‘where’. My descriptions of people tend to be sparse, as well. Must try harder at that.
Thanks, Tim, I'm glad it helps. Be sure to include smell, taste, sound, and touch when appropriate too. That's what I mean when I say take your time during cycling. Sometimes during the heat of writing it's easy to miss something the POV character's experiencing, like the scent of a bread store a block away or that a room's a litle warm or a little cool or sirens in the distance, etc.
