I'm really enjoying this series, Harvey. I just got back from a trip and am catching up on emails I missed ;) Looking forward to when you dive even deeper in to the Rules!
Re AI generated text: I read a short article on how AI generated job applications are becoming a problem for employers. At this point they are easy to recognize due to "a lack of personality and voice", but they do clog up the application process.
Also there was a case where AI had deduced that the company wanted hire men and not women. It discarded a very good candidate because he coached a girls volleyball team. The error was corrected, but the company was blind to the their own hiring process (which is why I would be very, very careful with it).
When it comes to writing, an author who wants to standout against derivative generated -stories should hone their own writer voice. Something that writing into the dark helps with.
Kristine Kathryn Rusch has an older article on Serious Author Voice which makes a good point of the value of a writer's unique voice.
Good stuff! And good links. Scary stuff about the kids. Glad they got rescued. Hoping for good things for them now. I'm sure TJ and the crew were in on the rescue.

Thanks, Natalie. Coming right up. But you can find this and much more in the free archives at the Journal website.

Thanks, Emilia. If you can find the link to the Rusch article and send it to me, I'll share it in TNDJ.
For sure. I have it bookmarked somewhere

Nope, not on that one, but his operatives have encountered (and cleared) several people-smuggling and forced slavery operations over the years. :-)
