What I hate most about AI is that all the big platforms are sneaking it in, encouraging you to use it, almost tricking you into using it, and acting like it's a normal thing to do.
I'm going to have to get another program to write in besides Word. I can't seem to get rid of Copilot. It just showed up one day, trying to 'help' me.
Okay, first, she's talking about Copilot, not Cortana (as I erroneously wrote above). Still, seems to me like I turned off both, but now I don't remember how. If you do, please let us know.
I let my readers know that none of what they might read written by me has been generated by AI — ALL my work, such as it is, is produced by AAI — An Actual Idiot.
I got a good chuckle out of the AI "June Cleaver" result for June 15th. I've seen some really goofy stuff come out of AI "research". Seems like web browsers automatically include it when you do web searches now. I've done some basic stuff that came out sideways. Example - I was recently trying to identify a specific 2-hole bead I have but hadn't written the name of on it. I did a quick search for 2-hole beads. The AI "tool" gave me a list that included 1-hole and 3-hole beads and called them 2-hole beads. I figure, if AI can't get something THAT simple right, there's no way I'm trusting it with something that truly matters!

No!
It's not just a stinkah. It's insidious evil.
Is Corana in Word or in Windows? I had it for awhile in one place or the other, but there's a way to turn it off.
It's in Windows. It is possible to turn it off, but not to get rid of it completely.

Ah, Co-pilot I have no idea. I don't use Word, I use OfficeLibre.
I'll see if I can find instructions somewhere. Probably on YouTube.
This is from Microsoft:
In your app (for example, Word), go to File > Options > Copilot. · Clear the Enable Copilot checkbox. · Select OK, and then close and restart the app.
Yeah, I saw that plus how to disable it in Windows 10/11. I couldn't find it anywhere (off or on) using their directions.

Yeah, I have a standard disclaimer that goes at the end of all my novels.
I should have started my statement to, “Atleast Spotify….” My rewrite :)
Thanks for the mention Harvey! Great book about how AI started by Dr Fei Fei Lee is “The Worlds I See”
Thanks, Manisha.

Incidentally, I DID identify the bead, but the type wasn't actually included in the AI explanation, so it proved worthless all the way around. LOL
Sounds right to me.
Also, the Dr. Mardy link doesn't work.
Agghh! Thanks for letting me know. You can find it at https://drmardygrothe.substack.com/p/dr-mardys-quotes-of-the-week-d5c. I'll run a correction tomorrow.
So nice to see your self-deception quote today, Harvey!
A happy coincidence when I saw your topic of the week. :-) Great minds and all that.
Totally cool!
