I have to disagree with the quote. When I'm interrupted in writing, it's exactly like having a conversation interrupted by a third person. Me and the person I'm talking to usually forgets where we were at in our conversation when that person interrupted. Takes me time to remember where we were, even if I'm halted mid-sentence. Maybe it's just me, but I hate interruptions - doesn't matter whether it's a conversation with one of my characters or a conversation with a friend.
Yeah, that almost never seems to work for me. At least, not quickly. It's like my brain changes gears when I get interrupted and can't seem to find the original one for a time. Aggravating.

Ooh, sorry to hear that. I guess I'm lucky that way. I can come back, read a sentence or two before the interruption, and be right back in the story.
