Oh, well, I didn't find the post provocative. It is your own blog, where you share your experience of writing. And the blog is very useful for me. But not provocative. I think the post might be provocative in a place where everyone believes in the myth. There, they would say: "Really? Here is someone who thinks we are not right?" I believe your followers follow your blog exactly because of who you are and what you do. I do, at the very least.
And even I write a little right now, I'm working on my time management and my following of Heinlein rules to be more prolific. Well, it works, if we say I wouldn't even write if it would be difficult thing to do. Mindset is a big help. I will be able to write more with time.
I found it soothing, validating, encouraging, personally. I'm digging out and dusting off the skills and attitudes/knowledge that I had decades ago when I started writing, in the "before times". While it might have been expressed in a different way than I would express it, it is definitely the pied piper's song that I'm striving to follow, as it "calls to me". Sometimes I feel more like the little crippled boy, who can't go fast enough and so gets locked outside the cave, ever yearning to be in there with the rest of the children. But, I'm limping along, and improving, bit by bit. And at least I know what I don't know, and know what I know now. You may be preaching to the choir on this blog....but the choir is starting to sing louder and louder...the good news is getting out there.
