The fear can be difficult to overcome at times, even for someone accustomed to following Heinlein's rules.

A case in point for me was a fanfic piece I started writing at the beginning of the year. It was going fine until, silly me, I started getting worried it wouldn't be as good as the first installment.

That did it. Fear gripped me and I 'couldn't' write.

Thankfully I shook it off soon enough and completed the story and the third one, finishing the series.

It's funny how our brains make monsters out of mole hills, as my mother says, when in reality it's no big deal.
