A Couple of Slow Days
of writing. And in TNDJ.
Okay, one, I had nothing to talk about yesterday. Or at least nothing occurred to me.
And nothing really today either, but I wanted to get the Of Interest stuff out to you today.
Sometimes life intrudes
and other things take priority over writing.
On Tuesday, my handyman came by and finished installing 40 amps of electricity in the Hovel on two lines, each with 4 receptacles. This has been an ongoing process. I'm just glad it's finally over.
And yesterday, I started re-routing my devices (computers, internet, fan, heater, etc.) to the new receptacles. That also led to me getting rid of some furniture and other things I've had crammed in here for a long time.
Anyway, for a bunch of years I've had only 20 amps and extension cords strung all over the place.
So I'm glad to be working my way free of that mess. That process will continue for awhile, though I should have more time to write beginning tomorrow.
Eventually I'll also rearrange my bookshelves, desks, etc. but probably not until the weather warms up. So that's a while in the future yet.
So I'm hopeful that I'll be able to get back to my current novel uninterrupted today and for the foreseeable future.
Who knows? Maybe tomorrow I'll even be back with something about writing. Of course, you can always email to ask me questions too. (Hint.)
In response to one question,
the cover design place Vin Zandri uses (and I've mentioned several times here in TNDJ) is Get Covers.
Full disclosure, I don't use them myself (yet). But the word is they are inexpensive and do excellent work.

Disclaimer: Whatever you believe, unreasoning fear and the myths that outlining, revising, and rewriting will make your work better are lies. They will always slow your progress as a writer or stop you cold. I will never teach the myths on this blog.
Writing fiction should never be something that stresses you out. It should be fun. On this blog I teach Writing Into the Dark and adherence to Heinlein’s Rules. Because of WITD and because I endeavor to follow those Rules I am a prolific professional fiction writer. You can be too.

I've used GetCovers for 4 short stories so far. You can see them at Amazon. The titles are: The Grande Dame of Reims, Chat Bot Fever, The Paperweight and The Empty Swing. Look up K.C. Riggs. These are all ebook covers and cost from $10-20, depending on whether you use one or multiple images. There's a learning curve on describing what you want and a time lag due to them being in Europe. But they're very good about making revisions until you are satisfied (at no extra cost).
I'll be using them for a cover for a novel soon that will be paper as well as ebook. I'll keep you posted on that.
I’ve also used Get Covers, which I also learned about from Vince, and they do great work.
